Abstract

In this paper we present results on the existence and asymptotic behaviour of solutions of a functional integral equation. Considering the equation in Banach space and proving a new fixed point theorem we establish existence theorems which generalize several ones obtained earlier by other authors. The applicability of the results is illustrated by an example.
